Parashat Miketz
Shabat Januca 5768
En este Shabat estamos festejando la fiesta de Januca que empezó el martes pasado por la noche. Januca es una fiesta de mucha alegría, luces y esperanza. En la pasada segunda noche de Januca tuvimos la dicha de vivenciar una fiesta comunitaria hermosa. Tuvimos la fiesta de fin de año de la Escuela de Educación Judía Jennifer Sossin, cuyo tema fue “Januca, la fiesta de las luminarias”.
Cada grupo, junto a sus Mora, preparó una presentación alusiva a alguna faceta de esta festividad. Se vio en escena la historia que dio motivo a dicha fiesta, costumbres como el encendido de la Janukia, el juego del Sevivon. También se pudo apreciar literatura, música y reflexiones relevantes para nuestra actualidad. Sin duda, padres, Morot, directores, miembros de B´nei Israel en general debemos estar orgullosos del entusiasmo, iniciativa, esfuerzo y dedicación con el cual nuestros Talmidim nos presentaron sus escenas. Obviamente se logró gracias al esfuerzo y paciencia de nuestras Morot.
Podemos afirmar que nuestra escuela es un gran tesoro que posee nuestra comunidad, un tesoro que debemos proteger, admirar y valorar. En la sociedad que vivimos, en la que como antaño somos minoría en medio de una gran mayoría, nuestra escuela y lo que ocurrió el pasado miércoles es como una de las luchas macabeas actuales frente a la asimilación y la apatía.
Sin duda, hoy en día nuestras herramientas más preciadas por la lucha por la continuidad de nuestro pueblo no son las armas como fueron para los macabeos sino la educación. Una educación llena de valores relevantes para nuestros niños y jóvenes. Una educación que logre fortalecer su identidad judía y tener herramientas para poder continuar siendo judío y sentir que es un orgullo pertenecer a esta cadena milenaria.
Quiera D”s que B´nei Israel siga apostando y aún con más fuerzas por la continuidad y educación judía de sus hijos.

Shabbat Chanukkah 5768
On this Shabbat we are celebrating the holiday of Chanukkah that began last Tuesday night. Chanukkah is a holiday of a lot of joy, lights and hope. On the past second night of Chanukkah we had the luck of having a beautiful community party. We had the end of year party for the Jennifer Sossin School for Jewish Education, with the theme of “Chanukkah, the holiday of lights”.
Each group, with their Morah, prepared an allusive presentation of some aspect of the holiday, customs as the lighting of the chanukkiah, the game of Sevivon. It was possible to appreciate literature, music and relevant reflections of our present. Doubtless, parents, Morot, directors, members of B’nei Israel in general must be proud of the enthusiasm, initiative, effort and dedication with what our Talmidim presented their scenes. Obviously, it was accomplished thanks to the effort and patience of our Morot.
We can say that our school is a great treasure our community possesses, a treasure we must protect, admire and value. In the society we live in, one that as in old times we are a minority in the midst of a great majority, our school and what happened last Wednesday was like an actual Maccabees’ struggle in front of assimilation and apathy.
Without doubt, today our most precious tools for the struggle of the continuity of our People are not the weapons as they were for the Maccabees, but education. An education full of relevant values for our children and youth. An education that strengthens their Jewish identity and gives them tools to continue being Jewish and feel proud to belong to this millennial chain.
May G-d grant that B’nei Israel continue growing with more strength for continuity and its children’s Jewish education.
